St. Nikolaus

St. Nikolaus
Nikolaus

On December 6th, in time for the Nikolaus Tag, a German tradition, St. Nicholas visited the primary and secondary school of FSAS. He talked to the learning partners about the history and main idea of St. Nikolaus. He emphasized that Nikolaus brought a small gift for the children, which was a way of spreading joy. The learning groups talked with him about sharing different forms of joy and kindness, such as helping others, making gifts, sharing compliments, and supporting each other. According to German tradition, on December 5th, the children polish their shoes and put them in front of the doors. Some children also include their Christmas wish list in their shoes. St. Nikolaus visits in the night between December 5th and 6th and puts treats in the shoes, ex., oranges, nuts, cookies, small chocolates, and sometimes a book, CD, or game. Our FSAS Nikolaus passed out Domino games to the primary and secondary school learning partners, which the Förderverein sponsored. Thank you for your visit, St. Nikolaus!

The Förderverein also sponsored a decorated Christmas Tree and a Chanukkiah for the Mensa. Thank you to the parents that helped decorate our Mensa and learning houses.

Happy Holidays!
